Wow! It really is time to invest in the biggest economic opportunity of my generation - the Green Economy! Bill C-311 is an important and visible way to let Canadians and the world know we are committed to a healthy future. I really can't urge you and your party strongly enough to vote for the Climate Change Accountability Act now before the Canadian Parliament.

I want Canada to continue to make me proud. That means demonstrating leadership on climate change. The Climate Change Accountability Act (Bill C-311) sets the right science-based 2050 target and the important milestones that Canada should meet in order to do its fair share in the global fight against climate change. This will ensure that all the necessary solutions are put into place to reach the important milestones and achieve a healthier environment.

If Canada acts now, Canadians will be able to establish a strong foothold in the emerging global clean energy economy with new jobs and industries. Canadians will also enjoy cleaner air, less waste, energy-efficient homes, and more livable, transit-friendly communities.

Canada must play a leadership role again on protecting the environment. This is THE most magnificent opportunity to show how relevant government can be in shaping a prosperous society. As a nominated candidate I am daily reminded how deeply people value the vast and natural beauty that so deeply characterizes this country. Without leadership on this vital issue - the other matters that seem so critical today may not really end up mattering at all. This will be upon reflection the moment of truth for you and your work as a voice in Canada in the early twenty-first century, Think about not only your families, but also all our relations. At this time, the wisdom of Dr.Suess is alive and well: "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

I want and expect our government to take responsibility with respect to our impact on global climate change. Do the right thing. On Wednesday, April 14 and vote for C-311.
